Luv North Beach - one of my fav SF hoods. So much good food and cool shops. I miss when ED used to live there and I'd have an excuse to crash at his pad.

Got through the first meeting with the bossmang after his return from his grand Alaska trip. He said it was 20 below. Glad he enjoyed that. The third person who was supposed to be in that first meeting didn't show. The longass bossmang meeting is next. Then work. Then maybe a quick run to Lenz art supplies for some lammy paper backing. And of course, a Yuki walky. Stacy is working over the hill all today so it's just me & doggo.

Our taxes are done. We're getting a $14K refund. yaaaaaaasssss! That'll help pay for Tara's graduation present.

A work day but all my meetings have been cancelled. Then a quick trip over to visit mom but I can't stay at the house because the entryway is getting redone, replacing the old tile with more oak flooring, so I'll come back tonight after dinner and a quick run to the Japanese market.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

A day of dodging pranks, work, and yoga tonight. Stacy has two home clients so I must tuck back in my work niche with Yuki and be quiet.

It’s been downgraded to 4.6. Epicenter was up in the SC mountains so it shook up some of my friends on social media. Woke us all up. Yuki did recon afterwards and then we all went back to sleep. But yeah, it was a good shaker. Waiting for aftershocks…

Anyone else feel it?

Got 2 telemeets today, then iai will be our first movie night. We’re watching Yojimbo (several classmates haven’t seen it) then maybe Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo if there’s stamina for a double feature.

I heard the epicenter was Boulder Creek. I'm in Cupertino. It (and the alerts on all my devices) woke me up,, but my brain said sleep was more important. just when I finally was falling asleep...sigh

I've got the thrice re-schedule brunch with my iai sensei in a few minutes. We're hitting up Seabreeze and I'll be grabbing some quotes from him about an article I'm working on  - then the final chunk is getting quotes from a certain Maestro I know from gay clubs and circle jerk alley (totally euphemistic).

Then a spot of work.

Then tonight. is the first Quarry gig for JAH Med. Season openers are always an adventure as Quarry 2026 takes shape. I've got a solid crew and it's a band I know very little about - The Garden - which is kinda punk I'm told. I found some images of the band with swords which I used for my laminates because if there's ever swords connected with a band, that's going into my lammies. I built a simple template for this year's Quarry laminates based on the design of the quarry website but I hate the color. That faded pea green puke color looks awful when printed (the difference between projected light vs reflected light has been my. bane as a print publisher for decades). I'll probably change that with the next run.

Kung Fu then some chores like fixing some tiny cracks in Stacy’s windshield, filing some receipts, processing my mom’s mail and maybe a grocery run.

Putting on the painting clothes. That fence isn't going to stain itself.

Had to fix the bathroom sink. One of the feed lines was leaking. First thought it was the trap since that was wet on the bottom, and when I opened it the gasket broke. So went to Ace for a hose and gaskets. Could not get the new plastic gaskets on - hard to reach - so had to go to Lowe's for a rubber gasket, which was what I wanted in the first place. Plastic gaskets suck. Not a 15 minute job like I thought.

Then hit Recycle books and Rasputin, and then home to power wash the outdoor furniture for guests tomorrow. And washed the guardian lions.

Stacy bought one of those windshield repair kits and it’s been sitting on my ‘to do’ shelf for at least a month. When I finally got around to prepping the windshield, the crack was just a spot that cleaned off with windex. Job done.

After yoga, we went to svale to meet Tara & Bri and bring my mom to see the house. Much to our surprise, workers were there fitting the tile. Srsly? On Easter? But we sat outside, which was pleasant on the new pavers, and carried my mom in for a look see. All went ok until my mom lost a tooth eating a soft lemon drop cookie. She didn’t even notice but Yuki did. Fortunately Tara spotted it before he ate it. It was awkward. Not sure how many teeth my mom has left - less than 10 I think.

I took her back to the care facility when she started to doze off then picked up house Thalis at a hawt Bhavan for everyone. After we ate,Stacy, Tara & Bri worked on sanding the new window frames and varnishing them while I sorted pix - another task I’ve been putting off. Found some good ones tho. A pic of Stro coaching me in a bout, maybe a pic of PPFY at that same match (need to look at it under a magnifying glass). Some other gems. Tossed a bag full. Still got hundreds more.

When we got home, I was going to watch a prep video for a program training boot camp that Im in cor the next 3 days but couldn’t find the link. Got frustrated, then my router went offline. I’ll sort that first thing tomorrow.

It was a weird Easter but at least some chores got done.
