Edging towards a premature conjaculation.
Been trying to imagine Greg on coke all day. DM guesses he’d succumb to THE FEAR and have a bad trip. And DM would be too busy messing with him to talk him down.
Fingers crossed brother…

The sale closed Friday. We were told the check was being overnighted to us.
Now, the lawyer is apologizing for the confusion since we haven't received the check. He says he was waiting for us to tell him we had opened the account for the check, something middle sister did on Friday. So many things wrong with this, not the least of which is why it wasn't a straight wire transfer.

You don't know, man.
It's been probably a decade or more since I've had a Coke or a Diet Coke.

Dude, I have done plenty of the Yeyo. Maybe.
Okay, never. Not even when my roommate was dealing cocaine to the whole building.

So, fuck. Fuckity, fuck, fuck.
I called my tax accountant back in December to go over all the tax documents I was going to need done to settle the estate. There would be three: my personal taxes, the estate/trust taxes, and my mother's final tax return. Yep, she lived for 15 days in 2025 and that deserves a tax return. Basically, my accountant gave me a pat on the head and told me to just to send in the documents when they arrive, all in one big happy package. Fine.
I'm worried by the complexity of these taxes so I did them as fast as I could. I sent the package in at the end of February to give Tax Guy plenty of time, especially if there were problems.
About a minute after I send the taxes in, I get a note from Antarctic sister asking when the estate taxes will be done. She wants to make sure they get done before she goes on her trip to Africa. Whatever. Not really my problem. Sort of. Kind of. The girls need a form from the Estate taxes in order to do there taxes and show all this money in their accounts came from the estate and they don't have to pay taxes on it.
About three weeks later in mid March, I send a note to Tax Guy asking how everything is going. I get kind of cranky email back from him saying he is slammed, but he should be getting to the taxes in a couple of days. Cool. I keep getting texts from an increasingly frantic Antarctic sister asking about the taxes. I ignored most of them. I assumed from the email the taxes would be here any day. At multiple points, Antarctic sister asked for the contact information for the tax guy so she could contact him directly and, I assume, explain to him directly how important it was to get those taxes done. I did not hand over the contact information.
So, here we are the last day of March. Tax Guy has had the taxes for over 40 days. Antarctic sister left Monday for Africa. Middle sister chimed in that she wanted to make sure she got her forms or find out if she needed to file for an extension. At this point, I figured I should have something from Tax Guy. I called him and was told he would call me back. He didn't call me back.
Today, I get an email from Tax Guy asking a bunch of questions about the returns and need for a lot of information. The subject line of the email was "Bunch of Fun" No fucking kidding. Why do you think I sent you this packet in February? The frustration is peaking.

I'm dealing with that a little. Distributions went out mid last year. Kids are asking what documents they need for their taxes. I had reached out to my mom's CPA who did her return in 2024. He'd never done those docs before (IRS form 1401 or something like that). Like employers, that stuff needs to be in earlier so the receivers can use the docs to do their taxes by 4-15...
I asked the CPA who does my taxes if she handles that sort of thing and she said yes. So she would file for an extension, asked me to send everything to her and she would sort out which for my taxes and which for the estate.
I've sent some follow up emails, but I'm sure they are getting slammed.
