Don't you just wipe it off on your fallen enemy?

Sure, in the moment. But you gotta do a deeper clean every once in a while.
Actually since I’ve been doing iaido, we do chiburi before re-sheathing. It’s also called a ‘blood shake’ and it’s meant to shake off the chunky bits. Can’t have that gumming up your scabbard, ya know?

Hump day...
I'm about to head home from svale. One of the workers just showed up. They've put up the drywall - not sure what the next step is.
Yesterday took a turn when my iaido sensei's dad died suddenly. He had not been well, but his death was a shock. We were texting about getting together for brunch (something we've been meaning to do for 3 weeks now) and he heard his dad was admitted to the ER, coughing blood and had to be intubated. A few hours later, he died. With his change in plans, I didn't have to go to the Japanese market.
Today is just work then yoga.

Finish putting the caps on the fence posts. Give plants some drinks. Contemplate finish fixing the lattice on the pergola.

Those are all euphemisms, aren't they?
Today is a work and taxes day, plus a run to the bank & TJs maybe, and then iaido, which will be a bummer knowing our sensei is away tending to his dad's passing.

Your taxes will never be done. If you'd like, I can have my sister take a break from calling me about our taxes and have her call you.

Bon touché Mon Ami
I concede to your sister threat.
It’s that ol’ death & taxes thang, only one of which is exclusive.

My mom’s taxes are essentially done. We just need to find 2 documents which our financial advisor should have. Today I’ll finish my deductions for our taxes. That, plus the usual workload, comprises tbis afternoon’s agenda.

Hit the car wash for the exterior wash, then had coffee and then to the garden store for a couple of plants. Then downtown at noon for No Kings. Biggest crowd yet, with more young people, although still skewing old. Then hit the fancy popsicle store - very tasty - on the way back to the car. Now relaxing.

Can you make your euphemisms less transparent?
I'm sorting my small business tax deductions. All different this year.
Didn't take it out for No Kings, but I'm wearing my 'Feeling' French' T-shirt which features a nice image of a guillotine.
