This has been heavily promoted by my Amazon algorithm so I gave is a watch. It's intriguing. There's a lot of discussing of veganism, animal abuse and dietary ethics. The main villains are vegan terrorists. The humanzee and his adopted parents are vegan. The humanzee sets up the classic outsider-in-school paradigm, so popular in anime. He's stoic, and it's unclear if he's a sociopath; he keeps dropping hints. I'm mostly intrigued because I'm curious what the ultimate message is about veganism and animal rights.
Not D00M recommended. None of those issues are on your radars...

I’m about 8 eps deep. They’re released weekly so it’s unbingeable. The show keeps broadening its scope on how it addresses animal rights, veganism, terrorism and sentience - quite thought provoking at points and weirdly heavy. Violent and cruel, then sweet and compassionate. Charlie is a solid character, doing the right thing in a world gone mad, yet his motives may be far from altruistic. Ultimately the question remains whether this show will take a stance on these issues or just keep playing them to be provocative.
The most recent ep opened with a trigger warning. It depicted a brutal school shooting and ended in a terrible cliffhanger.

The aftermath of the shooting delves deeper into the separation of Missourians and vegans. It’s weird how the philosophies play out, chilling on some levels as the school shooting prompt attacks on vegans nationwide, and thoightful AA their are many soapbox moments when characters get to expound their positions in a hyper-rational way. It’s still engaging. I’m eager to see where this will go ultimately.

I think I’m on ep9 and that there’s one more ep for the season. This penultimate was a bit of a low energy filler ep, but it ended on a monster cliff hanger. Eager to see how this all resolves. It was a long running manga so there’s gotta be a lot more content in terms of future seasons.

Somewhat of a filler ep as one of the early villains converts to the good side. Charlie remains stoic as political agendas and legal issues surround him. Still unclear what the ultimate statement of this show is but perhaps I'm reading too much into it despite its philosophical/ethical conundrums.

The penultimate season one episode is somewhat of a filler. It finale addresses the romance question and it’s a bit flat how it goes over. Really eager to see how this ends and that’s without a cliffhanger.
