My mother has now arrived home. While at the rehab facility waiting for the ambulance to transport her, I thought I was watching her die in the bed. She looked terrible, struggling to breathe and shutting her eyes.
I went to lunch with High School friends before she was transported but was called during lunch to come home because they couldn't get my mother in the lift. I was just around the corned in a small restaurant at the end of what was Blue Hills Market(across the creek from Jake's)
I was thrilled to find out the Qi Vampire had shown up and was in the house when I came in. I'm thinking of throwing him out because he keeps offering suggestions of things I could do for my mother to my mother.
Bail money might be needed.

Bail only needed if you get caught.

My mother returned from the rehab center on Wednesday. There was a big discussion about bringing in a night watcher to make sure the oxygen machine that she is now permanently on did not stop working while she slept. it was going to cost a fortune but my mother could afford. The big question was when was the night sitter going to show up on Wednesday. Roberta arrived and told us there wouldn't be a night sitter because my mother refused to sign the contracts. The night would be spent sans sitter. And every night since then. No problem with the oxygen cutting out.
The one issue we did have was my mother was afraid to go up stairs to bed. I don't know what she thought would happen to be afraid of, but she didn't want to go up. I eventually convinced her that I would stand and watch while the caregiver did all the maneuvering to get her from the kitchen to her bed. The entire pavane took a half hour. She got up from her to a walker. Then from a walker to a wheel chair. The wheel chair went to the hall way to the stair lift. But in order to get into the stair lift, she had to get out of the wheel chair and up on the walker so she could turn around onto the chair of the stair lift. The whole process was done in reverse at the top of the stairs. Like I said. It took a half hour from kitchen vampire.
The user/leach was waiting for us at the house when my mother returned home. I was called back from lunch to help get my mother into the stair lift to take her up to the kitchen. I then went back to complete my lunch.
Here we are five days later and my mother has decided not to leave the bed. She doesn't read her daily paper or any books. Roberta has gone over to read to her.

A normal INR range is 0.8 to 1.1 if you're not taking anticoagulant medications. If you're taking these medications, your target INR range may be between 2 and 3.5. If your INR is too high, you're at increased risk of bleeding. If you develop bleeding while your INR is too high, it can be life-threatening.
According to bloodwork done yesterday, my mother's INR is 5.2

She may be reduced to a slurry if she keeps that up.

All. She's on all of them.
Nurse came by yesterday and hopefully straightened everything out. I'll know more on Tuesday when I pop in for a visit.

Aaarrgggh! The Saga of the Roof continues.
Today the roof was finally cleaned. My sister sent pictures of the roof cleaners cleaning the roof. Not good enough, said Safeco Insurance company. We need a picture of the whole roof. There is a person that could take a picture of the whole roof. As a matter of fact, he took a picture of the whole roof two weeks ago. My sister called to ask me to come down and take more roof pictures. The insurance cancels on the 19th so it has to be done immediately.
The only hiccup that I can see glaring me right in the face is that when I took pictures two weeks ago, I noticed two big sections where the tiles are broken. If Safeco doesn't like the fact there is mold on the roof, they are going to hate the fact there is a hole in the roof.
I'm driving down tomorrow to take pictures of the roof. Tempted to do some photoshop magic to fix the holes, but that wouldn't be kosher. This also begs the question that if Safeco had photographed the roof previously, why did they not mention the tile damage? The explanation of course could be the last people to clean the roof in August, did the damage....
What a mess.
