Talked to someone who went. All they said it’s all about the multiverse with a roll of their eyes.
Did the Assassins of zodiac and paper tigers panel. Got to touch base and take selfies with all the paper tigers crew. That was fun. Then there was the immortal dinner which was delightful. Ended up at the Hilton bar for a while which was noisy and I didn’t drink anymore (drank a lot of red wine at dinner). Stumbled back to my cool hotel room which was the distance of the convention center, packed while watching snl and now it’s time to sleep for a few hours before I travel.
So sad to leave this happy place. Hope I don’t catch Covid again…

Totally spaced getting my boarding pass on the handy dandy southwest app. I gues I didn’t want to leave. So now I’m in group c #52, probably the last person to board. That was dumb.
I should get up and get to it…

SAN is always a cluster. And of course, the young dude in front of me failed at every task getting through tsa. My flight is 9 mins late.
Always sad to return to the muggle world. Maybe 10% here are masked at best.
Ready for nap.

I should’ve grabbed a selfie. I regret that now.
So I boarded near the end as aforementioned and as I’m shuffling down the aisle looking for a middle seat, this young gal waves me over. We’re both masked (only a few passengers bothered) and I accept her invitation immediatly. She starts asking me about SDCC saying she’s lived in SD all her life and never gone in, just done some gaslamp stuff. She’s drawing an elf from some video game on her tablet and our conversation moves across a ton of geeky subjects. She’s done some voice work and some D&D podcasts (she has a cool ring spins like a 20-sided die) and mentions she has a rapier, boxes, and trains some theatrical fencing. We’re thoroughly engaged in convo for the hour flight. She’s charming and delightful.
Now I’m wondering if I just fell asleep and dreamed it. Leaving SDCC can be like waking from a wonderful dream…

Just deleted the southwest & comic-con apps off my phone. Tara is here now in anticipation of tomorrow’s trip. The sdcc elation is fading and that was masking some pain. I’m starting to hurt but I wasn’t as on top of my meds and exercises today.
Time to pass out now.

In all the MCU hoopla at Hall H, I didn't see any mention of a Shang Chi sequel or an Eternals sequel.....

Ok, I’ll confess right out that I’ve been drinking & smoking despite the warnings on my Rx. Not sure why I’m admitting that. Maybe to justify my spelchuk errors. Funny, I don’t usually care about that. I is the under the influence.
Been watching sdcc vids in my stupor, mourning not being with my family backpacking right now, in some pathetic effort to cling to the fantasy world I just left. At the dog park today, a friend asked me what my topmost experience was. Thst’s a tough call. Sdcc is feckin over the top.
The two that stick out was the flight home being chatted up by that rapier owning starlet (srsly did that really happen or was it some Rx induced hallucination? I’m now friend’s dad with her on several social media platforms so it must’ve happened because I couldn’t just make that up, right? I just don’t know anymore…)
The second was ATARASHII GAKKO. Been watching their YouTube channel but nothing captures their live act. It’s not about their music. It’s their dancing. Here’s my drunken high medicate fav so far ?but it pales to their live presence).
Just try to imagine these gals sustaining this level of dance energy for an hour plus set.
This is a little closer to their live experience…
I dunno, man. Maybe I was just exhausted and blissful. Now I’m just kinda wasted and this is still working for me because it’s reminding me of how I was in my happy place a few days ago and for a moment, my pain was numbed.
