How is it that we still have so many Sherlock Holmes Universe Shows? (Baker Street Universe?) I just read an article recently where they talked to Benedict Cumberbatch about when there might be new Sherlock episodes....
I am not overwhelmed by this trailer.

Started watching this. Good on the atmosphere. It quickly went in a supernatural direction that I didn't know was coming, but it works well enough. There's a big evil thing happening and they have to fight it. And it's unclear who is good and who isn't. Holmes himself doesn't show up until ep. 5, but is critical to the plot.
They did color blind casting (like in Bridgerton) but really there's no reason Watson couldn't be black. He does have a ridiculous mustache though.

We saw Ep 1. tQ and I were not overly impressed. I thought we did see Sherlock in the first episode comatose on the floor.
But yes, Supernatural things.

True, and we see his feet in another episode, but he doesn't speak until episode 5. I suppose it isn't that good really, but now I want to see what happens.

Watched e1. Agreed about the atmosphere of the show and I do like the cast of youngens, especially Bea, but I’m a bit worried that it’ll go all CW soap opera on me.
It didn’t feel like a Holmes story. I don’t have issues with a black Watson but it bugs me when he doesn’t limp. Watson must limp. So far, it feels like it didn’t need to be Sherlock, that they just did that to coattail but perhaps I need to get to e5 as KB says for it to click.
I wanted the Louisiana swamp dude to be Scatman Crothers and the gal who gets her eyes pecked to be Tippi Hedren.
Yeah, okay, I confess, it’s really only about Bea for me so far. Thaddea reminds me a lot of a Wulin friend who’s now in Med school. She’s the one who hooked me up with Raya & Mulan during the pandemic.
I’ll probably watch a few more.

Got to the end. It fit with where they were going, but will probably annoy DM. Sherlock didn't have much of a part, although he did a little deduction. Bea did most of the deduction. Christina called the two supposed surprises that weren't really that surprising. It ended up with the possibility of an interesting direction if they continue it, but it's Netflix so they probably won't.

You sure you aren't mistaking DM for Greg? Because the likeness is uncanny, especially to Yetis in low light.
I haven't read this article because of spoilers but the headline says it all: https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/did-the-irr...onnection/

I found ep2 rather engaging. Bea continues to grow on me and the overall dental premise, particularly the daughters crazy makeup, was working for me. I don’t think cloning was a term in sherlockian days and I find the prince annoying. But I found the supernatural elements enjoyable and the end of Ep scene was great. Good barf scene which are three words I seldom put together (and I’d venture to say I’ve seen more barf the. All of DOOM combined - dm knows barf). I’ll watch some more.

E3 was okay. I like tarot stories. And there were swords but no sword fighting. Nice ending cliffhanger.

Got to e5. Made me think Downey ruined Sherlock. Why can’t they follow Dr Strange not Iron Man?
E4 reminded me of a story arc in Game of Thrones. It was one of my least favorite story arcs there but redeemed here by the goth taxidermy.
Still enjoying some of the characters - Bea especially. Hating on Leopold tho. The drug scenes are playing out too stereotypically for my refined drug tastes. Plus I just don’t care for his character.
Despite my disdain for how Watson & Sherlock are portrayed, I am amused by the spin on the irregulars. It’s an imaginative take on some very minor Doyle characters. I think the original irregulars were all boys but I don’t really remember. The supernatural angle redeems a lot of liberties taken.
Didn’t care for their spin on Lestrade either but I’m writing all that off to this not being about any of them really. I’ll probably finish it at this point. I’m invested enough in Bea. I like Jesse, Billy and Spike too, particularly Billy even tho that character is the most stereotypical. I like the vibe that actor brings to the role.
Hoping for some sword fights soon.

A bit off topic, but there are several related threads so there's no clear winner on where to put this: Top 100 Sherlock Holmes portrayals
It was entertaining and there were several I'd like to watch or rewatch.

Finished e7. Still not amazing but still enjoying the cast except for also who needs a punch in the nose.
I too guessed the mcguffin an Ep or two prior to the reveal (had my suspicions all along).
I’ll finish it soon.

Well you called that right there KB. What an annoying ending. It like ended, the problem solved, and then it droned on for another 15 minutes. The fate of Sherlock was annoying. The whole deal with how the problem was solved was annoying...like I'm just going to stick my hands in it until it goes away. And what was with the possessed nun? A flailing attempt for more goth horror but it just annoyed.
The Irregulars got so short changed. After all that, Leo and Watson do nothing to help them out of their poverty. I mean, they're all constantly dirty. At least buy them some soap. So annoying.
I was also annoyed about the weapons chest. We needed a clear shot of everything that was in that chest. Billy's choice of the shillelagh was awesome but then he only gets to use it for a splint? Leo's choice of the wolf's-tooth-club-like mace was also awesome but then it is written out, just like Bea's knife and we never quite see what the others take except for Spike, who gets a nice bolt action rifle but apparently only one bullet and then just rifle butts people.
In the end, it was all about Bea. I'll be looking forward to more from Thaddea Graham.

I thought it left open the possibility of a second season focusing on Bea and Watson, which could be interesting, but I was annoyed that it went so non-canonical. I doubt they'll renew it since Netflix likes continual new material.
