Nomadland (Hulu)
#1
This is getting a lot of buzz. Francis Mcdormand is a widow in a dying town and ends up living the van life. It’s a slow, sometimes very slow, intimate portrait of these folks. Francis is stellar and inhabits the character. The story is very melancholy and silent. When there is music, it’s very noticeable.

It reminded me a bit of Into the Wild.

I enjoyed it. Not particularly recommended. No sword fights.

And the director went from this to Marvel's "Eternals"
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

This sounded like one of those Oscar bait pictures, but oddly based on a book about the precarious existence of nomadic, often older, temp workers. It seems that all the social criticism of the book has been removed: see this article.
