Rabbits by David Lynch
#1
For Easter (or maybe for 420), I watched David Lynch's Rabbits series from 2002 on YouTube. It's 8 short films totaling ~45 min.

Here's a link if you want to watch each episode separately:

It's very Lynchian - 3 human like rabbits in a sparsely decorated apartment. One irons, one sits on the couch. One in a suit, enters and then also sits on the couch. Heavy background synth a la Twin Peaks, general background noise a la Eraserhead. The sound effect of the door opening and closing is misqueued. The characters deliver their lines in an almost monotone manner. The dialog seems to be multiple conversations that have been tossed in a blender and then delivered in no particular order. An overwhelming sense of "offness" and unsolvable puzzles. The camera never moves and the effects are very low-fi (lighting/unfocusing)

Cast - Naomi Watts, Laura Harring, Scott Coffey, Rebekah Del Rio (all were in Mulholland Drive which came out the year before)

This would make a good triple bill with Donnie Darko and Watership Down

Not recommended...
