An offbeat SF movie that borrows from different genres to good effect. It started oddly, such that I thought it was just another of interminable trailers for other movies. But nope, Nope had started.
I won't give away much of the plot, other than to say it's a rather unusual take on the idea. It's filled with a number of plot holes, but none of them fatal, and it makes for some lively debate after the credits roll. What did the ??? mean? Why couldn't they just ??? What happened to ??? Was ??? an unreliable narrator? How did they film ???
I did have trouble understanding a lot of the dialogue. Dammit. It would have really helped. But even LCF confessed to having difficulties understanding some of the talk.
Overall, a SF movie that doesn't quite hold together the more you reflect on it, but an odd take on a basic SF trope kept fresh with its mix of genres.
