Venom is Sony, part of the Spiderverse but not really part of the MCU. Although the border is fuzzy on that one. Marvel really wishes they could get all the Spiderman properties like Venom back from Sony, but Sony keeps making from the films. Especially once Marvel showed Sony how to make a Spiderman movie with Spiderman: Homecoming.
