No.7 Cherry Lane (2019) by Yonfan

An animated feature reminiscent of Wong Kar Wei's sophisticated film-work.  1960s Hong Kong comes vibrantly alive.  A love triangle develops between a kind but narcissistic young man and a mother and daughter.  No sword fights.  Slo-mo everything, almost hypnotic.

Seen on criterion.

As an aside, I almost started Center Stage, starring Maggie Cheung and Tony Leung.  But LCF told me she thinks we saw it -- maybe at the Towne.  Anyone have a feel for whether it played locally?  The descr: "International superstar Maggie Cheung embodies tragic screen siren Ruan Lingyu."
