So, did anyone else watch this? For all the recognizable cast - Mel, Naomi, Will Sasso (the big guy from mad tv), I did not recognize the lead from anything. He was ok, but not particularly compelling. As you can tell from the title, there’s a video game theme, like Scott Pilgrim, combined with the Groundhog Day “repeat until you get it right and lean valuable lessons along the way” storyline which I guess is now a trope (see Edge of Tomorrow, Russian Doll). There were some weak bits and Mel wasn’t that special in this, but I found it pretty entertaining. Some good repartee over swords. Lots of beheadings, but not enough to make it a drinking game.

Doom recommended.

Been trying to get around to this as soon as it shows up on one of my streaming services. Where did you watch this?

The lead is Frank Grillo, a martial stuntman who has delivered plenty of decent B actioners. To get a sense of who he is, check this out http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomFor...p?tid=4663

He is also crossbones in the MCU. He fought Captain America in the elevator.

This was a Hulu movie and almost made me do the seven day free trial to see it.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Yeah, saw it on Hulu. I signed up for the holiday $1.99/mo (we supported) promo.

Wow, I looked it up. It was a Black Friday promo. I don’t watch Hulu very much, so the price is right.

They offer that same price to students: https://www.hulu.com/student
