Wasango (Volcano High)
If Michael Mann directed "The Story of Ricki" set in a high school instead of a prison it would look something like this.
Basically a teen martial-arts expert gets kicked out of school for fighting. He gets transferred to 'Volcano High', a prison-like building filled with violent adolescents.
the Rugby Team fights the Judo team, the Kendo team fights the Weight-lifting team and everybody hates the principal.
The film is very dark (both in mood and lighting). The kids beat the crap out of each other in grey, spartan environments. There is CGI, wirework and mystical energy blasts. It drags in some places but builds up to an awesome student vs. teacher climax. Lots of flying around on scaffolding in the rain.
I'll try and get a nice DVD copy for a future DOOM event.
