Fascination (1979) by Jean Rollin
#1
Criterion is featuring 1980s horror as part of its October lineup.  In a reach, they're including this 1979 feature.  But I won't complain.

Some time back I went through a Jean Rollin phase, mostly on Kanopy.  For some reason Kanopy didn't have Fascination.  It's classic Rollin, featuring two lesbians in an old chateau, and the thief who goes there intending to hide out.  No vampires here.  Some time ago, at the recommendation of a doctor, the ladies drank bull's blood for anemia.  But their tastes have since expanded to include men.  The two women then form a whole coven of women with the same tastes.  Because more is better, right?  Anyway, eye candy abounds.  And of course there comes the moment when diaphanous robes are handed out.  Because, well, of course!

A very good introduction to Rollin's canon.  He's so good with lighting!  Oh, there's a scythe vs. knife fight between two women.  Not that Rollin is particularly adept at fight choreography.  Come to think of it, I believe he used a scythe in another of his films.  It makes for a great gothic visual.

Recommended.  But then again, this is me.
