A tour de force from Emilio Estevez who wrote, directed and starred in this tale of the Cincinnati public library and homelessness. A small film with an indie feel, thought provoking in the corners. Having worked at the Svale public library, there were points I could relate to, but of course, no homeless in Svale back 3 decades ago. The plot turned absurd but to make its point. The Steinbeck reference was on point. No sword fights. Not particularly DOOM recommended. Just watched it to kill some time tonight as Stacy thought she might stay up to midnite for NYE, but no, she's asleep already like every year now. Nevertheless, an engaging flick on what libraries mean and as a former public library employee, there was some resonance for me.
