Maher poking fun at religious literalists is like shooting fish in a barrel. He also plays havoc with the editing to punch up the humor, surely at the cost of the interviewees. The downside is that Maher has obviously studied the bible and could have posed some serious discussion if he wasn't just going for absurdity gags. But still, it's got some funny moments, some hilarious characters like the Mexican Jesus Christ, the Church of Cannabis, the trucker church and Jesus at the Holy Land theme park. The ending was preachy, but a granted, a decent message. It was entertaining once, on DVD...
