Not gonna make the Memorial tomorrow. Stacy's dad's gathering takes precedence; none of the will have any sense of what we're sacrificing to be there but what can ya do? I even got invited to a pre- and post-gathering of the family, but I don't really know Natascha, and I'm not sure I'd even recognize Chloe or Monet.
In a weird moment of synchronicity, I just got back from yoga and turned on Have a Nice Day, a 70s radio show hosted by my dog park friend DJ Kai Dragon. Today he's playing '77 so I turned on the radio to Marley's War, and then opened my email receive confirmation from Rock Med about working the upcoming Dark Star Orchestra shows. Right then Dark Star by CSN came on. The music never stopped. Kai is devoting the remainder of his show to Bobby, starting with Lost Sailor > Saint of Circumstance. He mentioned a Grateful Dead Dance at the 418 Project but I cannot find any details on it beyond a note on their calendar. Never been to the 418 Project. It's a dance studio near the Woodhouse I think.

Kai got my request in.
He's ending his show with Estimated Prophet. The next show is Test of Time, and I'm guessing there will be more...

They used to be further down Front Street across from the transit station. I think when India Joze main location closed, they opened up a pop-up sharing the space with 418 project. --tg

Nice short remembrance on the New Yorker site by a writer who knew him.

We watched the SF gov link just now. I wouldn't recommend it. The commercial breaks were obnoxious. They dropped one right in the middle of Baez's song and another for the Melania movie. Buzz killers. You might try the nugs link instead.

My FB feed is full of posts about the celebration yesterday in SF. It's really nice to see this outpouring of affection.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

From my friends that were there - the most powerful moment was when Natascha (Bob’s widow) asked for 108 seconds of silence and all that could be heard was the screech of a hawk the flew overhead. That’s just so Bobby.

Yuki & I met 2 deadheads at the dog park, Alexandra and her pup Mackey, and Gavin and his pup Mr. Beans. We chatted about the memorial and shared some tales of tour and such. Grateful Cruz forever.
Alexandra was at Grateful Sunday last weekend too but she said the mix where she was was muddy. Being close to the stage has its advantages…

Just imagine what all my social feeds look like. I binged a bunch of old Bobby & GD interviews and songs on YouTube. In contrast to Spinal Tap, now onlu the drummers survive.

Another nod from DJ Tiffany on Joy in the Morning, KZSC. Didn't realize she was such a deadhead until this. She's spinning some reggae covers, just like my other fav reggae DJs.
