I saw most of Ep 01. I might not go back. Isn't the show supposed to be fun?

Binged the first part (only 4 eps total) it’s more of the same, although by the end, everyone is in play. E 3 is good because of the sword fight - not a great fight by any measure, but amusing. It ends in a funny farm where all the patients -‘we’ll, let’s just see.

I literally fell asleep whilst posting that above.
Not sure where I was going with that last sentence fragment but I will say that the 4th ep brings the second season nicely in line with the first and sets up a decent cliffhanger. There was a decent reveal that resolves an initial story arc but it keeps enough for the next four eps. I was saddened by one character’s death. I’m seeing some style parallels with Into the Badlands. I’ve met Gough & Miller, the show runners several times and even impressed them by knowing some of their Journey to the West easter eggs. Greg met them to at a premiere. All in all, I enjoyed it. It’s in line with the first season. Jenna is kinda overdoing her rbf but many of the subsidiary characters are taking on more (and I do like the new psycho fan). If you liked season 1, this is more of the same. Consequently D00M recommended.

Yesternight was the Hungry Ghost Festival which was a good excuse to binge the end od s2 since it dropped yesterday. I enjoyed it especially the return of Weems. E6 was particularly fun with the BlackPink drop and the role switch, giving Ortega & Myers an opportunity to stretch their acting chops (Myers has a good rbf which is all she needed, Ortega being chirpy was a treat). E7 has the Lady Gaga cameo (and it is just a short cameo) and the Dead Dance song drop, which is ok but didn’t have the impact of BlackPink. I think that was also when another fencing bout happened - not a great sword fight but a sword fight. E8 is the big reveal of course, which ties up most of the story arcs neatly and provides a lot of backstory on Gomez, Morticia & Thing. Didn’t care for Thing’s backstory, which made for an obvious deus ex machina ending (still think he should’ve stayed in the box but that so much water under the bridge now). The set up for next season is in, and I’ll tune in when it comes around. Ultimately, Ortega kinda phones it in but she remains solid in the role, and the supporting cast steps up. I’ve accepted Guzman as Gomez, even though he hardly measures up. And Zeta-Jones has had work done that makes her face too plump - Morticia should be gaunt. But these are minor quibbles. It was a fine way for me to celebrate Hungry Ghost Fest beyond burning incense.
Only D00M recommended if you were into season 1.

Finished season 2. I don't remember Season 1 so much, but this felt like it was trying so hard to be Harry Potter redone with Addams Family characters.
