Linoleum (Hulu)

Jim Gaffigan is a middle aged white guy…

But wait, there’s more! It’s a dramatic, low-key indie film where Gaffigan plays a has been rocket scientist who now just  creates a Bill Nye the Science Guy-like series from his garage. He lives with his estranged also-scientist wife and their teen daughter in a little suburban street…

Things go awry when a handsome doppelganger arrives on the scene and takes over his show…and a rocket crashes into his backyard and the government cordons off his house.

It’s a slow movie and you can kinda see the plot twist coming. Very melancholy.

Gaffigan does a decent job in both roles. Not bad, just not really recommended. Very much an art house film like will Farrell in “everything must go”.

Not not recommended!

Reminded me a bit of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. There’s definitely a tone to it, and it’s slow enough that we ended up watching about 1/4 before Shannon bailed. I watched the rest later myself…
