A Hate watch. But I needed to see the car wreck and it was kind of but not really a great car wreck just the kind that made you think well that is sad.
Sylvester Stallone stars in this super hero movie about Super Hero Samaritan and his equally Super Hero brother Nemesis. Really need to talk to their parents about how they name their kids. No back story is given about the origins of S and N. It's starts with a big battle at a power station between the battling brothers. N has a plan to destroy something or other. S tries to stop him but N has forged a sledgehammer that has super powers. Again, no explanation about why this hammer has superpowers it just does because N made it. Lots of hand waving going on this show. But N dies in the explosion in the power plant and S goes into hiding.
Flash forward, I think ten years, maybe longer, maybe shorter but there is a kid who lives in the projects and is on the fence about joining the gang to make some money to save his mom and him from getting evicted. The kid has a Samaritan fixation and keeps thinking he has found him.
Meanwhile there is a bad guy running around town named Cyrus who wants to recreate the Nemesis stunt to take the city down. Not clear to what end he wants to do this, could just be anarchy. Hand wave. Hand wave. He gets some EMP explosives that when they go off don't affect the electronics in Cell phones or Cars. They are good that way.
Eventually, Sam, the kid finds out that Sylvester is the Super Hero and they have to go against Cyrus to stop him from doing whatever he is going to do. There's a big rescue and a big fight and the sledgehammer comes out. And yawn. And hand wave. And Stallone gets to make quips like it's the 1980s!
It's all really bad. The Queen wandered in towards the end and looked at me like I had done something unsavory which I had.
So, big thumbs up!
