Juniper Tree (1990)(Iceland) by Nietzchka Keene

This stars a very young Björk (last name Guðmundsdóttir, in case you didn't know), age 25 (same birthday as mine, but 15 years younger), looking half that age.  It's her first major role in a feature film, I believe, shot in black and white on a small budget, but in 35mm, and it's been restored.  So it's a decent-looking film, based on a fairy tale.  There's a fair number of long shots where you can't see the actors' lips but they're talking (a sign of studio dubbing), but still there's enough close-up dialog scenes of respectable length that demonstrate legit acting.  I've always been a bit curious about her talents.  Dancer in the Dark impressed me, and now this earlier film does, too, in its own way.

Not really recommended for DOOM, but a nice little film, and an opportunity to see a young and incandescent Björk before she was forced to switch to LEDs.

saw bjork at the warfield many many years ago.  she blew me away but i was already a fan.  a tiny teeny woman with an elfish face, but could open her mouth so wide like a snake unhinging its jaws to swallow an ostrich egg.  and what a voice came out.  man, she could belt a song.  i don't think i've seen her films.  i've seen a few music videos.  i am intrigued.
