Charlize Theron plays the Secretary of State with ambitions of becoming the president when Bob Odenkirk, TV star turned president who wants to be a movie star, steps down. Seth Rogen (I know. I'm voluntarily watching him in a movie) is an out of work angry reporter. Rogen and Theron knew each other when they were kids centered around an embarrassing incident. But Rogen is a good writer and Theron needs somebody to punch up her speeches for the upcoming campaign.
Look, I'm a sucker for a good romantic comedy and this one wasn't half bad. Rogen left his annoying laugh at home for most of the movie and seemed to really try to be an actor to support the movie. (He was still Seth Rogen) Theron I think wanted to play pretty in nice clothes and flawless hair after her trials in Mad Max: Fury Road.
Naturally, the two fall in love. That's the way these movies work. And it works better this time than when Seth did it with Karen Heigl. The film is plotted really well. They do do a couple of gross out scenes for what can only be the benefit of Rogen's sensibilities.
The film was funny. It had a few good surprises. There was some touching moments. The whole Rom-Com package with a dash of Rogen.
Definitely not DOOM recommended.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
