Flushed Away

Not bad. Not bad at all. In fact, rather satisfactory. The beginning was typical frenetic CGI kid's flick, but by the middle, things got rolling along nicely and both DM and cub were chuckling a lot. The slugs and the frogs were great. The animation was interesting, although the playdoh-head modelling of the characters made DM hanker for some good traditional stop-motion ala Wallace & Gromit. It's totally the Aardman style, just CGI now. The look of the film (dare I say 'sets'?) was amusing although not overwhelming. A lot of it was quite dark. The cartoon physics, especially with the frogs, was very appreciated. Jackman wasn't that impressive as a voice actor, but Winslet, Reno and McKellen were spot on. In fact, Jackman was the weakest link, but that's ok. Surprisingly little potty humor given that it all happens in a sewer, so that was refreshing. T said it was the best film she'd seen since Nanny McPhee.

Didn't you say Nanny Mcphee was one of the worst films ever made? If so, how are we to judge?
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit

I liked Mcphee. T liked it a lot. I was quoting T. Her review counts heavily on films like these.
