Indiana Jones and the Temple of D00M (1984)

I thought I’d revisit this to see Ke Huy Quan’s debut again.

I remember it being bad but wow, not that bad. It’s amazing that the franchise survived.

I remember thinking Kate Capshaw was hawt. Sure, okay, I was a teenager obsessed with blondes at the time. Wow she is talentless except for getting Spielberg to marry her.

I was dating an Indian gal after it came out and I remember that she was offended by the racist portrayal of Indians. I remember having some sympathy for that because the initial portrayal of Shanghai was cliche. After living in India for a month and a half, I get it. So misrepresented, so appropriated.

I remember being annoyed because Short Round was a dumb name. It’s still a dumb name but Ke is quite precocious and is the best thing about this film.

I remember Scapino doing an impression of Indy saying ‘we are going to die’ when he and Short are about to be crushed by the spiked room. I think he delivered the line better than Ford.

Not D00M recommended. D00M should be removed from the title.

It sucked.
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
