Kleo
#1
A German-made espionage series set at the end of the DDR and into the post DDR Germany. Our hero is Kleo, a true-believer that gets hung-out to dry by the powers that be. Only question is, who exactly were those powers and why did they sacrifice her? First ep is a bit grim but after that it gets a little...odd.

It is a straight forward spy/conspiracy/revenge story, but our hero is somewhat...unhinged by her experiences. You definitely root for her to succeed, though. Sven, the fuck-up West German cop who is pretty observant but also a man-child, and Thilo (the spacey techno music evangelist and low-level drug maker who definitely sample his own wares) are both good foils for our not-quite-right-in-dem-kopf hero.

Recommended. Season II has already been greenlit.

Cool. Netflix has been pushing this one me but I've been put off by some androgynous man (?) in the early lead shots. It's been a long time since I lived in SF and my thick jaded skin has softened like tofu.

That would be Thilo, and he is going to give you concert flashbacks.

Christina's friend from Taiwan just gave her a package of tofu skins. We have no idea what to do with them.

You can chuck them into a stir fry. Are they like flat sheets or little pockets like rectangular pitas?
