October Faction (2021)
#1
A married couple returns from Japan with their teenage children to attend the husband's father's funeral and clear up the estate. But all is not as it seems. Could it be the parents are leading double lives unbeknownst to their children?  Of course. Is there a dark past for the Husband and wife in the town where they grew up? Of course. Despite the couples plans to get out of the town quickly, will they be forced to stay? What do you think?

Looking for things to watch, this caught our eye.I thought it was going to be a pretty exciting husband and wife monster killer team. But the majority of the show was the husband giving passive aggressive vibes about his father and their estrangement. It turns out dad was in the monster hunting business, too. There is a lot of hint dropping in the episode to make you curious about what is supposed to be happening but it all seems very cliched.

Then there is the mansion set. It's much too clean and freshly painted. I hate it when sets looks like sets and this mansion definitely looks like a set. Not a spot of age or texture anywhere. My favorite part was a flashback scene in the kitchen which dissolved to modern day and the kitchen didn't change at all. Very poor.

I don't know if we are going to get to another episode of this show.

We watched all of them. The plot as a whole was pretty good - focusing on the "Who's really the monster here?" thing. The teenager aspect was annoying, and most of them were obviously so much older than that. Ended with the possibility of a second season, but I doubt it will happen.

Okay. Might revisit now when the 'to be watched' list gets short.
