This stars Chen Chang, who was Dark Cloud in CTHD and in that film had a striking resemblance to one DM, especially in his inebriated singing. In this movie, he reminds me more of Daniel Wu.
He plays a very stolid cop in this paint by number actioner where most of the numbers are for white. While it's refreshing to see a Chinese movie set in snow, still, this is a very ugly movie of greed and betrayal, with the few good people conveniently being stupid when the plot calls for it. And you never really get to know anyone. I ended up rooting for the snow. Overall unpleasant and a disappointment, and with an ending that I'm still trying to unravel in my head. Where is a wikipedia write-up with complete spoilers when you need it?
Oh, by the way. I see that Chen Chang has a role in the new DUNE movie (directed by Denis Villeneuve) slated to come out in 2020.
