It's really just about Michelle & Barack's first date. Both actors skirt doing cheap impressions of the POTUS & FLOTUS. It's really mostly about Michelle, or Tika's take on Michelle, as she plays her and produced this. It's about race, about the era, about Chicago black culture, about a pivotal meeting, and contributes to the mythology of the Obamas. Understated, almost too much so. Made me want to see Do the Right Thing again.
