Captain America: Civil War

Lots of boom. Could do we an edit to shorten it. The super epic beat down at the airport went on for a long, long, long time.

It needed more humor, more banter between the kids. It needed more of an epic villain rather than what they came up with.

It was fun having seats that reclined and had foot rests, but I wouldn't make a habit of that. We probably sat too close because the big fights in the beginning were really choppy and hard to watch.

But it was fun. I'll see it again.

Winter Soldier was better. But I am tired of Cap's love for the Winter Soldier.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

I think I liked this better than "Winter Soldier". The dynamic between Cap and Iron Man was great. I had also read some of the comic book series so knew a little more back story. I also liked all the new characters. I don't think revealing the introduction of Black Panther is a spoiler since he's in the trailers but if it is I'm sorry about revealing that Black Panther is introduced in the film. I thought his fight scenes were really well choreographed and am looking forward to his solo movie next year. We did the iMAX/3D thing and once again were underwhelmed by the 3D feature. I really only do iMAX for the sound and as Greg said, there were lots of booms.

There are eight million stories in Concussionopolis; this has been one of them.

The Bond girl, Pummelings Galore, steals every scene she's in, and she's in a lot of them.

Seriously, I haven't seen this many beat-downs since, well, never.  One has to wonder what kind of message it sends to our youth.  That these kinds of punches don't hurt, and don't have any kind of effect?  Enough with the violence!  They need to get back to core values like nudity and sex before I'll take a young'un to the movies.

I thought the fight choreography was very impressive, though most of it was likely done in post.  Most of this movie was done in post.  Cinema has gone in such a strange direction.  The great filmmakers of the past would be traumatized seeing something like this.  I have no idea whether they'd be awestruck or appalled.  For that matter, I don't know whether I'm awestruck or appalled.  Well, okay.  I'll say it.  This isn't exactly my cup of tea, and I'd rather watch some low-budget, inventive, unpredictable flick.  Yeah, I know.  I'm no fun anymore.

The previews before the start of the movie were for the new Bourne movie and for Tarzan.  There seemed no continuity to the few action scenes they showed -- just a lot of close-up flashes of movement.  Did the Bourne franchise lose their fight choreography team?  Just didn't look promising.  And Tarzan, for all its impressive CGI, seemed somehow lacking in its previewed action sequences.

The MCU is gotten too complicated for me. Now I'm like 'well who the heck is that character?' But still, a lot of gratuitous tossing through walls and such, and that's always entertaining. I enjoyed the airport fight. Heck that could've gone on for the whole flick and all the plot could've just been skipped. Needed more Nat but I guess ScarJo is kinda pricey nowadays. A swordfight would've been good too.

My take home message was that I should see Ant Man next, despite my general disdain for Rudd.
