It Might Get Loud
#1
The Edge, Jack White, and Jimmy Page all get together to talk about guitars and their music. Sort of. It's more like three separate cursory biographies intertwined. And since there were three you really didn't get to delve too far into any one of the artists life. I did learn some fun stuff about the three guitarists but not enough to really satisfy. And frankly, Jack White is a little too whacked out for my tastes. I thought the resting art from poor instruments theory was a little useless. I did like hearing about Jimmy Page's early life. I didn't realize he was a much sought after session musician and he played on a wide variety of albums in his early days. I also got to see the country estate where Led Zeppelin 4 was recorded. But again, I didn't get enough. The stuff on The Edge was fun. I'd heard a lot of it before. But they did go to the Mount Joy school where all the lads were in school together and use to play at lunch time.

They did bring the three guitarists together at Stage 16 at Warner Brothers to jam a little and talk guitars. Those scenes never really went anywhere. The funniest bit on the outtakes was The Edge playing the opening riff to "Stairway to Heaven" and telling everyone he'd come up with a new song.

It was good to see everyone's different approach from Jack White's instrument purity to The Edge's fascination with processors. I would have been happier to see full length bios on just Jimmy Page and The Edge.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit
