Captain America: Brave New World (2025)

Well, that was poor. Not tricksy at all. If they wanted to have the spy thriller atmosphere of Winter Soldier, they failed. Not a lot of humor. Ver little star power. I can't believe they made Harrison Ford say the lines he did. Lots of exposition. Just not a lot there.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Definitely a weaker installment. The absense of humor was a major detractor for an MCU film. The red Hulk was spoiled in the trailer so all the suspence they tried to build was lost. I liked Sabra - good to get another widow. And I've always liked Bradley's story. And I do like Mackie as Cap. Harrison and Liv were totally wasted - I would've liked to see more from them. Could've had more Esposito too, although he was playing the role he always plays. I forgot the whole Samuel Sterns storyline from the original Hulk so that was lost on me too.

It has a few moments akin to Kendrick's halftime show. Cap's final speeches to Bucky and Falcon had the right intention but the message wasn't something those who needed to hear it most would understand. Had that been set up better and written better, that could've really hit home.

At the very least, it sets up Thunderbolts*

I would've liked it less if I had paid for it, but it was a late birthday treat from my old KF brother Keith. I think I had more fun just enjoying a movie with him again. We haven't done that since SDCC.
