When it comes to Bollywood, the music vids are basically trailers. This stars two of my favs, King Khan & Deepika Padakone. And they are already in hot water over it because the color Deepika's bikini (it's saffron, which fundamentalist Hindu feel is disrespectful of their culture - effigies of Khan have been burned in protest).
Personally, I think Deepika looks fine, as always.

This movie is ridiculous. Ridiculous in that Bollywood actioner way. I was very entertained.
Shah Rukh Khan is pushing 60 but damn, he’s in unbelievable shape. His physique is so ridiculous that I thought it might be cgi enhanced. He’s sometimes called the Indian Tom Cruise and while I can see why, it’s not fair to either actor. Here King Khan sports Johnny Depp locks always tastefully obscuring his face, and is shirtless a lot. If I had a body have as chiseled as his, I’d never wear a shirt ever.
Deepika Padukone is pushing 40 but damn, she’s still smokin hawt. She just seethes sexuality with that come hither look. I was first smitten by her in Jackie Chan’s The Myth and if anything, she’s gotten hawter. She’s always in bikinis, cat suits, lingerie, or glamour gowns, outfits that accentuate her slinky sultry self.
This is a superspy movie, global in that Bond globetrotting way, Dubai, Majorca, Paris, Mumbai, Cadiz…and more. Khan is part of a special force from India. Padukone is ISI (Pakistan). She’s not just a double agent - she’s a triple, quadruple, quintuple … eh I lost count. Totally worked with her come hither eyes. Then there’s John Abraham, a former superspy comrade of Khan’s now turned terrorist. Lots of spy stuff - safe cracking, chase scenes, explosions. But where this really shines is the action.
The action is ridiculous. The opening sequence of Khan breaking out of captivity and taking on a huge gang is absurd from the get go and just crazier as it goes. It’s awesome. And it’s the slowest action sequence of the film, just a taste of how ridiculous things are going to get. To Khan’s credit, he does pull of a decent oner in a prison train fight. And Deepika can hold her own action wise. She moves distractingly well. Her entrance is the only dance number behind the end credits dance - it had me a hello with a poolside bikini Bollywood shindig.
The best way to watch this is to leave your brain as far away as you can and just enjoy the ridiculous spectacle. If you cannot suspend belief, you won’t make it 10 mins into this film. This will force your to suspend belief beyond almost anything you’ve scene before, one the level of superhero films or Fast & Furious, but with that sumptuous masala spice.
This is the highest Indian grosser of 2023 and the second highest Hindi grosser of all time.
D00M recommended.
