I enjoyed this dad - son romp.
I will count this as evening up the fiasco of the "Karate Kid" remake. Jaden Smith was fantastic (even with the weird Star-Trek worthy brow formations).
My only issue was that Jaden moves like a gymnast. He is incredibly lithe and almost seems CGI as he bounces from scene to scene. It's like a weird blending of animation and real life. I play a lot of video games and the characters move the way he does, almost defying gravity.
Will Smith was great as the immobile motivator. It was almost a 'throw my kid in the Hollywood pool and see how he swims' part.
There were some plot holes (close to a million) but a fun stupid sci-fi movie.
