I didn't even know about this movie until someone mentioned it at work the other day.

Very Terry Gilliam. A number of Alice in Wonderland references. Gilliam loves out-of-control characters (like Robin Williams in "Fisher King", Brad Pitt in "12 Monkeys"), and he uses that character again here. It felt like he did the movie his way which was nice to see if you've seen the "Lost in La Mancha" documentary about his "Don Quixote" project where almost everything went wrong, or if you've seen "Brothers Grimm" where it felt like the studios had him on a chain (or if you've seen the alternate "happy ending" to Brazil that the studios did without him).

This movie was two hours long. I watched it in two parts and I can't quite wrap my head around it yet. It has the twisted, crazed feel of "Fear and Loathing". I had difficulty understanding the little girl's dialog in places which makes up most of the movie, so this one warrants a second viewing.

Creepy...dark...disturbing...imaginative...wild
