It’s rocktober & rock med is overwhelmed and understaffed so I’m here. We’re running a tiny team, just 5 of us. I’m paired with a young EMT named Nicabec (sp?) and we’re the roving team. We’ve got two cool nurses, both friends and a young venue manager. Since the team is tight, we’ve been given a $30 door dash coupon. Me & my teammate order marafuku ramen. Solidarity! The others went for burgers.
It’s a clean well heeled crowd. BGC is decorated with Halloween inflatables. Looking forward to a pleasant evening…

Had a call during my ramen. Syncopal. Mom with 2 adult daughters. One daughter had some experience with response. Made it easy.
Checked out a song. Sara’s got a great voice. Sweet. Sold out 2 nights here.
Now I’m sitting by my lonesome at table service again. I can hear the show but the doors are closed so it’s muffled. My partner tucked into the show to watch.
Some audience are dressed in formal attire, like evening gowns and sports jackets. I appreciate that.
I’m stuffed with ramen and soft drinks.

The young supervisor left to join some birthday party bar hopping. He gave me the house radio so I am now the supervisor. I HAVE THE POWER!
And I’m alone again, standing (well, sitting actually) at the table service in an empty hallway listening to Sara croon in echoey halls.
It’s lonely at the top.
Leashing my emu for now.
She’s covering Whitney’s I wanna dance with somebody. Not working for me. Not that I e ever heard Whitney live but this just sounds like Tiffany. Maybe it’s the muffled echo.
There’s a metal access plate by my feet that I can kick for a super loud obnoxious noise. Kinda rude.
Ok, she killed Brave. Really slayed with it. (A door is open so I can hear clearly now). The audience is going wild.
That must’ve been the finale. Peeps a leavin now.
Encore imminent.
