This was quite good. It’s an assassin’s tale, but the twist is the main assassin, Hornclaw, is a legendary killer that’s aging out. And there’s a young upstart that’s psycho, looking to expedite her retirement. Time is irrelevant as the story jumps back and forth, piecing together the backstories on all the main characters, revealing motivations as needed. It’s well written and by the end, everything falls into place with a poignant final battle at an abandoned theme park called Happyland, and even that has a poetic reason. The action is solid, well paced and satisfactory, ranking from one strike/one cut scenes to a few short oners, appropriate to the story: There’s some good cold kills, good assassin stuff, a fresh take on the whole hitperson tropes. The original title in Korean translates as 'Bruised Fruit' which makes a lot more sense when you see it.
D00M recommended.
