Shaolin Monk (1976)

A Taiwanese Kung Fu movie about Tamo. It’s really bad. The Kung Fu is horrible. The story is all twisted up. Tamo’s 18 styles is some poor rendition of Hung Gar Tiger Crane. Tamo gets killed by the heroine (who is the only actor with any skills) because she’s slapping him for wanted to make her love interest into is disciple while he’s sitting in meditation. Then when she goes to show her beloved, they dig up the coffin to find one sandal (part of the Tamo myth) that flies around and kicks and scolds them. Then Tamo is back to life to fight the main villain, a Taoist master who has trained his hand until it’s black and burns whatever it touches (the training sequence where his thrusts his palm into a bowl of ash then alternates with a pot of dry ice fog goes back and forth like a half dozen times - way too long - we get it already).

There’s also a mantis henchman who is green - in clothes and face makeup. No idea why.

Not D00M recommended.

Some mantids are pink.

The main villain did some sort of mantis (maybe it was supposed to be crane) but he was normal colored.
