This is a China-made documentary that I must’ve seen soon after it came out. Hadn’t thought about it in years but it’s quite a survey of Chinese martial arts of the time. I was surprised at how many of the masters featured in it are people that I’ve interacted with over the years, including GM Sun Jianyun, who I took some private lessons from. It races through significant locations, none of which probably made much sense to me back then because the explanations were so cursory, but now, it’s a really good snapshot of the era. It uses a lot of clips from the National survey and other docs - and there’s a lot of old wushu moves not seen anymore. Good stuff. A ton of forms. Recommended to D00M Kung Fu peeps.
