This was amusing. Hates is like the super sleuth granny lawyer and the first ep mcguffin was intriguing. I’ll watch more.

I thought so. It’s a lot of Kathy mugging like she does. Stacy might like it as she enjoys courtroom dramas.

Binged to ep 5 (all that’s out now) 
It’s amusing enough to sustain my attention. Bates is consitantly solid, if an unbelievable character. Some of the rest of the cast are emerging as amusing. It’s reminding me of Revenge but instead of hawt Emily VanCamp in the Hamptons, it’s Bates with cutthroat lawyers. If only it had a ninja angle with Hiroyuki Sanada, this would rock. 
Figured out the perp in the ep about the junkie ex-con. The other eps didn’t move in a way that there was a hidden perp.

Still watching because it’s escapist courtroom drama and Bates, although the other 2 legal assistants and their superior

Not buying the two main divorced partners hooking up again. Their relationship has no chemistry. By the end of the ep, everyone had tear-filled eyes except me. Not buying that either. I like the humor - the overarching storyline and the barrage of tear jerkers ain’t working for me.

2 more eps in. It’s getting more outrageous and ridiculous but Bates is the saving grace. She’s somewhat in that overacting phase of her career but the stories are so absurd that it works ok. There’s a humor to this show that’s amusing. Some of the supporting cast is, well, supportive. I suspect this won’t conclude - it’ll end in a cliffhanger. Akin to Man on the Inside, much of the tension is the threat of getting caught and once Bates completes her mission, the entire cast will know so she was undercover and it’ll need an entirely new storyline for another season.

A new ep. I’m liking the junior lawyers a lot. They’re the comic relief and I’m very relieved. Matlock & Olympia get drunk and hijinks ensue. Shae gets more backstory and I’m glad of it because she’s also an amusing character (the human lie detector).

Still watching this but not that invested. I like Shae and Sarah and they team up to investigate Matty, which was a run arc but it only went for one ep. That coulda been strung out longer.

Our Netflix & Hulu are cancelled for now so I caught up on this and Elsbeth. Coulda started Reacher s3 but I’ll save that for tomorrow perhaps.

Turns out I missed an ep where Matty goes undercover at a senior facility and just like Man on the Inside, these people have no idea was a senior facility is like. Everyone is fully functional; if they were that functional, they wouldn’t need to be in a home.

Then I saw the following ep already. The most recent one I had not seen where the divorcees-in-progress oppose each other in a custody battle that triggers Marty’s memory of her custody battle with her daughter for her child. I think it was the first time we’ve seen the daughter (she’s dead, oded, which inspired this entire undercover op). A good Sarah ep. Her ocd is the best part of the show.

Julie Haggerty appears as Maddie’s sister. I knew I recognized her but had to cheat with imbd.

The big case is won. Coming up on the season finale soon. Wondering if it’ll conclude.
