George Clooney directs this incredible true story of how the JV team from University of Washington went on to win Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. I watched this after watching 12 Mighty Orphans, the incredible true story of how 12 orphans went on to with the Texas State High School Football Championships and saved the country from the great Depression.
The were both pretty marginal. 12 Mighty Orphans at least had Martin Sheen. The Boys in the Boat didn't have anyone. And it was a straight linear story without a lot of bumps to keep you interested. And none of the 'Boys' looked like they were in college. I spent a lot of time playing is that CGI or not for the racing sequences.
My favorite part had nothing to do with the movie. And I hope they actually did have such a thing. At the Poughkeepsie Regatta, which was a big deal. They had a train that ran alongside the water course with sort of covered bleachers facing the water. And as the race went along the train would follow the boats so the spectators could be with the race the entire time. If I ever have to watch 8 man crew, that's how I want to see it.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
