I have so many mixed feelings about this. Obviously I mourn with the rest of Lam Kwoon, but there was no love lost between me and Lynn. Working at WLE Our clashes were vicious and irreconcilable, and the main reason why I left Lam Kwoon.

I got Carol's message right when I pulled up to the staff parking lot at Phish. Been trying to process it all night.

Yes.  Didn't mean to leave this hanging unanswered so long.  Was going to elaborate.  But there's so much water over and under the bridge...  I'll just say yes.  For a part of it at least.  And leave it at that.

I’m really curious about the fate of WLE. Not only because it will have an effect on my job(s) but because we built that company, cf. You, me, Sifu, & Lynn, then the others that followed. I’m eager to know what the next chapter will be, if there is one.

You should definitely go. As much as I’d love to see everyone, I just can’t. It’s me. Hi. I’m the problem. It’s me.

At Sifu's funeral, I saw the moment you and Lynn spotted each other.  Everyone was churning about in the aisle before the ceremony and you and Lynn were on a near collision course, maybe 15 feet apart, and you both froze, gazes locked.  It was unclear to me what would follow.  But that shared look was eye-opening.  Two animals on high alert, ready to fight, flee, or who knows what.  Anything seemed possible.  There was the barest very cautious recognition of each other's existence, then you  both altered course to avoid further contact.  Or that's how I remember it.  I knew then and there that it had been a much worse work environment towards the end than I imagined.

BTW, is it a Chinese thing to avoid making wills?  I don't think Sifu did, and I doubt Lynn did.  So WLE goes lurching along haphazardly after them, or it dies.  Dang it!  Would it kill them to make wills?

On a side note, regarding my own will, I'll get to it REAL SOON NOW.

I remember seeing Lynn at the funeral. She was smiling. I turned away and avoided any eye contact for the rest of it.

Usually having children inspires a will.

I always thought that for married folks, the will is only really critical if you both die at the same time (although not to them). But once one partner is gone, then it's critical. I'd say having a trust is more important.

True. I was generalizing. But yeah, a trust is key.
