As a matter of fact, I do hate the Lakers. The one Boston team my father made me like was the Celtics.
That being said, this is a really fun show. John C. Reilly as Dr. Jerry Buss does an incredible job. The show starts in bed with Buss in bed at the Playboy mansion with a naked Playboy Playmate as he announces to the camera that today is the day he is going to trade in his real estate empire for the Los Angeles Lakers. There is a lot of fourth wall breaking. Everybody does it. Some times two people in the same scene. So far it is all about Reilly as Dr. Buss. He's very captivating. It is very hard to tell a story that everyone knows but Judd Apatow manages to do it.
Ep1 is all about Buss buying the team and picking Magic Johnson in the NBA draft. It's a period piece of the 1980s. We see a lot of the subtle racism (and not so subtle racism) of the time. It's all quite fascinating.
I"m guessing this show is for the Sporstball fans in DOOM, which I think is just me.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
