RIP Thich Nhat Hanh

Huge loss to Zen. Peace is Every Step and You Are Here were brilliant works. I think that’s all I read of him apart from miscellaneous essays.

I saw him speak once, totally by accident. I decided to go to church with my parents at Stanford - mainly because the the building is great, and the organist was great and always played Bach at the end of the service - and he was a guest and gave a Zen talk in place of the normal sermon. He was very good; even my parents were impressed by him.

Peace is Every Step is good, but more of a book to dip into occasionally for inspiration rather than read straight through.

That sounds awesome. I know what you mean about that church. I went to a sing along Messiah there once. It’s spectacular.

I find most Zen books are best dipped instead of read linearly. It’s not a linear religion.

Stacy credits Thich as being her gateway into Buddhist thought.
