Last Night in Soho (2021)
#1
Edgar Wright writes and directs this tale that bounces between the swinging sixties and modern day London. Eliose is a fashion designer student. She gets a flat in Soho where she she see the previous tenant Sandy living her life in the swinging sixties. Sandy gets caught up with a great Matt Smith who plays Jack. Sandy is played by Anya Taylor-Joy from The Queen's Gambit. Things get nightmarish for Eloise as Sandy starts to take over her life, sort of. I guess that's where the horror comes up. But it is more psychological than horrifying.

I might have seen too much of the trailers because I wasn't too excited by the unique effects Wright uses to show Eloise with Sandy. It took me a long time to figure out which roll Dame Diana Rigg played. I think this might be her last roll.

It was nice to see an original movie that didn't have super heroes in it. But I don't think the film is all that good.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

And at last the horror thread gains an entry.

I'm intrigued, but this review seems a bit lukewarm.

Been meaning to move some archive posts here... haven’t checked if I have admin access to do that, or the time to bother.

I’ll prolly have time sometime.
