I keep watching this to see Colin Ferrell (The Penguin) screaming "I got you. I got you" and then the Batmobile coming out of the flames.

CF, the movie is The Dark Knight, okay?

My Batman moratorium is in effect. And there is a lot out there to break it. Including posters.

One of my Den editors said he ‘casually’ crossed paths with Pattinson at the NY premiere

Bummer I didn’t get invited to a screener

That was fun. There is a whole lot of Batman, though. Almost too much Batman at 2 hours and 56 minutes. Pack a lunch. The first 2/3rds races by. The final 1/3 gets a little clunky as they try to solve the mystery and there are numerous false endings. And the conclusion wasn't very satisfying. I think the filmmakers thought they needed a giant set piece for the climax and it felt a little forced. Some of the cinematography and action sequences were stunning. And how they told the Batman story was nice especially some of the sequences early in the movie. The fight sequences were very visceral. Don't watch the trailer any more because **shocker** some of the best sequences are in the trailer. But one of the sequences I loved played out really well on the big screen.

I'm giving it a thumbs up. And just to be fair, a women sitting right next to me saw a completely different movie and hated it.

Wait.  You mean he was on screen and in the audience at the same time?  What will those FX guys come up with next?

A screening of Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” was disrupted on opening night Friday at the Moviehouse & Eatery by Cinépolis in Austin, Texas, after a moviegoer released a live bat inside the theater. Annelise Holyoak, a spokesperson at Cinépolis, confirmed the news with CBS Austin and said the moviegoer was pulling a prank and not trying to actively harm anyone.
“Local animal control was immediately contacted, and they have been overseeing the situation to ensure guest, associate and animal safety,” Holyoak said in a statement. “To ensure a prank like this does not again occur, we’ve added additional security and are checking all bags upon guest entry.”
Video of the prank shared with CBS Austin showed movie theater staff explaining to guests how they planned to get the bat out of the theater. One staff member is heard saying, “We will use the projector to turn that [movie screen] light off and I’m gonna turn all these lights off and try and get it to go into this lighted [exit] area. If you are uncomfortable being in the dark with a bat, please remove yourself now.”
Moviegoers in attendance at “The Batman” screening were offered full refunds because of the prank. The theater said that the majority of viewers in attendance decided to stay and finish the film with the bat still in the theater.
“The Batman” started its box office run in the U.S. with a sturdy $134 million, above original estimates of $128.5 million. Those ticket sales rank as the best opening of 2022, as well as only the second pandemic-era movie to cross the $100 million mark in a single weekend following “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” Internationally, “The Batman” earned $120 million from 74 overseas market for a total global haul of $254 million after its first weekend in release.

Seen on HBO Max

This movie is all about tone. It looks great, but there's no character development. If I was to compare the Batman flix, this would fall below the dark night which has great character development.

In the end, this feels like a prequel to the next movie.

I'm liking it, but left wanting more...
