How do you sell a haunted house in this economy? That is the question Surreal Estate on SyFy channel tries to answer. The Roman Agency deals exclusively with properties that have bad histories and are difficult to sell. In the pilot episode they are dealing with two properties. One has a poltergeist problem. The other has an overabundance of ghosts terrorizing the a young woman.
I don't think the first episode quite nailed the line it was trying to draw between humor and horror in the first episode. The horror wasn't all that scary because it dealt with a lot of cliches and the funny wasn't all that funny. I knew the cause of the poltergeist problem immediately. The problem with the overabundance of ghosts seemed very familiar as well. The characters aren't quirky or funny enough to draw me on this first viewing but I'm going to give it another shot.
