Amusing. Ferrell is on target with his determined fool caricature. This is a good vehicle for him. Zooey is good at first, but loses cred towards the end. Caan could have been more ballistic, more like DeNiro in Analyze This or Meet the Parents. Lou Grant as Santa? Not. The premise is amusing enough and followed through upon. The debates between Ferrell and the department store manager or Artie Lange as the false Santa are funniest. Decent Xmas fare. It was better than I thought it was going to be. T liked it.

Over the years this has grown into on of my fav Xmas flick. We own the dvd. It’s Ferrell’s greatest role. And I take back what I said about Zooey, James, & Ed. They’re great.

I don't hate this much as I used to. It seemed to be playing on every station a week ago so I've caught a lot of it this year.

Farrell's greatest role is in The Other Guys.

I think Ron Burgundy might be his greatest (the first film).
