The first time the set catches on fire, it's kind of funny. Not so much the second time.

... on top of getting ready to put on a megaworkshop in Vegas for which I wrote 30 courses and workbooks, and on top of needing to turn 10 of those courses into online courses (when? oh as soon as you possibly can, yesterday would be good), I'm also in the middle of everything that goes into the annual software update - writing an online certification course for all my freelance trainers, updating the CBT, the existing online courses for the customers, writing a new "Intro to Version 7" course for the customers.
Now, this is actualy relatively par for the course and I've gotten used to this end-of-year madness. But apparently my calm demeanor and failure to panic and complain was a tactical mistake, because my boss assigns me one more little project. Figure out everything that would be necessary to put together a webinar program that we can launch as of January 2, 2006, and let's expect to launch an on-demand pay-per-view of recorded webinars by April. Doesn't that sound like a swell idea? No big deal, right? If I have to sit through one more web-conferencing demo, I may have to slit my own throat. I never want to talk to another software sales person as long as I live. And I haven't even started talking to the online registration software reps. Oh joy. Bleah!!!

So I get this call from a former advertiser to set up a meeting with her friend, a professional feng shui person, and she's trying to sell us the idea that we should sell her shirt designs, like do the printing, advertising and everything, just for her and give her the money after, but 'no,' i say, 'we could print your shirts but you got to pay for them' - we print a lot of shirts - 22,000 accounts mostly schools and we do all their shirts, etc., so the lady she sends is really weird, stares vacuously into your eyes weird, shakes your hand like a dead squid weird, whips out an ingraved plastic name tag that affixes magnetically to her blouse weird. i mean the name tag really got me. who the hell does that? do you walk around carrying a magnetic plastic name tag in your pocket?

Well I actually like my job. I help people feel better, mentally, emotionally and physically. I ease their pain and suffering. I restore their vitality and balance. Some of my patients feel that best they have ever felt.
But every so often someone comes in who is a problem. Like the 400lb gay man who would describe his sexual prowess and how far his cum would go. Which if true was actually quite impressive. (He stated that he could hit the ceiling while laying on the floor) The thing that made troublesome was his insistance that he really needed to suck my dick and that I absolutely had to teach all the ancient and mystical sexual practices that I learned while in acupuncture school. Fortunately these only show up every so often.

![]() OK -- I'm not going to worry about the petty politics, rampant stupidity and low pay at my job anymore.

Legbone, you're like a magnet for wackos. Talk about sucking! You suck 'em in.

My mother has been experiencing pain from her arthritis. My mother asked me if I knew anybody who does acupuncture . . . .

But it could go so horribly wrong. For Legbone.

That just has so much potential for all sorts of possibilities. Besides, she's a paying client, right Greg?

Or you might want to do it for free for a historical perspective. Of course the conjunction of Legbone and my mother might cause the universe to end. Did you consider that possibility?

After several years of experiencing the agony that accompanies every annual software update trying to update/reprogram the CBT, write and program a "what's new in this version" online course, update, educate and re-certify 60+ freelance trainers all by myself, and after two and a half years rehabing from a hand/wrist injury from the overwork, I finally got my boss to pay for someone qualified to help me last year. This year, we planned to expand her role and let her take over most of this process - she'd take the CBT and the "what's new" course, and I'd focus on the training agents. Woo-hoo, regular work hours, which is a little more palatable for the amount they pay me. She agrees.
My boss is so thrilled that we've found someone competent other than me that he looks into finding other opportunities for her as well. Negotiates a deal with her to develop some webinars. Guess what? Last week, she sends me a message, sorry can't do the CBT or the "What's New" course. Too busy with the webinars. :Hangman:

She'll just have to start up again after you quit, right? Then you can renegotiate your return based on both an elevated pay scale and your taking over the dang webinars.
Jeez, I can't believe I just typed that word. I feel dirty. You can always hire the agent Terrell Owens has. He seems to get publicity for his clients. I mean, at the least.... |
