Justice League Dark: Apokolips War
#1
This is the DCAMU version of Avengers: Infinity War. It started in 2013 with Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and it follows the Darkseid War story arc. I've read where this is the final installment, but it ends on a cliffhanger just like Infinity, but it seems to cycle back to Flashpoint. I don't know if I'll go back to find that out. I might be done with these for a while. Time travel can solve anything.

I had the same problem with it that I inevitably had with the MCU - too many damn superheroes and I'm not nerd enough to remember them all. AW features a lot of DC characters that I recognize that I didn't expect to come into play like Constantine and Swamp Thing.

It begins with the siege on Darkseid's covid-like-death-star planet but 'it's a trap' and then it jumps forward to 2 years after the siege, to the scorched earth. All the superheroes have been turned to Darkseid or are broken somehow. Superman was injected with kryptonite so he lost all of his powers. Batman and Wonder Woman have been borged to follow Darkseid. The survivors of the Justice League have to join with the Suicide Squad for one final attack.

It's brutal. A lot of superheroes die in this arc, torn to shreds by Paradooms (hybrids of parademons and doomsday - like the Uruk-hai). It's got a solid voice cast - Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Rainn Wilson as Lex, Rebecca Romjin as Lois. I enjoyed it for what I could keep up with - there were some pivotal story arcs, like that of Raven and her dad or the Lazarus Pit, that I didn't understand.

I enjoyed it for it's dark spin on DC - like the Bizarro World or the Mirror Universe. It was also interesting to see some major superheroes die.

Sword fights - Damian Wayne (son of Batman and Talia al Ghul) is part of the League of Assassins and wields a sword. He later gets a kryptonite sword. Recommended for DOOMer who just want to see one episode of the DCAMU - this would be the one because it's the most out there.

I'm might see what the animated Harley Quinn series is like but I think I can skip this.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
